About International Day of Happiness

International day of happiness (Happiness Day) is celebrated on the 20th of March every year. United Nations General Assembly on 28 June, 2012 adopted a resolution (UN resolution 66/281) which proclaim 20th March is the International Day of Happiness. The resolution invites all Member States, organizations of the United Nations system and other international and regional organizations, as well as civic society, including non-governmental organizations and individuals, to observe the Happiness Day in an appropriate manner, including through education and public awareness-raising activities.

First Happiness Day was celebrated in the year 2013.


Activities and Programs on Happiness Day

Many celebrities and popular persons are participating in different activities of the Day of happiness. Many activities and programs are conducted around the world to promote happiness as a fundamental human right.

Charitable organizations, governments, individuals, NGOs, etc. are participating in different programs. A wide social media campaign is also a part in Happiness day celebration.

Many people participate in the celebrations by sharing their happiness moments. Many also express different ways by which happiness can be achieved. A happiness campaign is arranged on every year based on a theme selected for that year. This campaign is done in social media and other platforms.
