Every year March 24 is observed as International Day for the Right to the Truth concerning Gross Human Rights Violations and for the Dignity of Victims.
United Nations General Assembly proclaimed March 24 as the International Day for the Right to the Truth concerning Gross Human Right violations and for the Dignity of Victims on 21 December 2010. This day is observed to promote human rights issue.
Sometimes International Day for the Right to the Truth Concerning Gross Human Rights Violations and for the Dignity of Victims is also known as right to truth day.

This day is observed with many activities and events. Some of the programs includes honoring victims of human rights violation, promote the importance of the right to truth and justice, paying tribute to those who have fought for human rights, recognizing the important work and values of Archbishop Oscar Arnulfo Romero, of EI Salvador who assassinated on March 24, 1980.
