About International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression

Every year June 4th is observed as International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression. This is a United Nations Day celebrated with a purpose to acknowledge the pain suffered by children throughout the world who are the victims of physical, mental and emotional abuse. The day was established in 1982 and affirms the UN’s commitment to protect the rights of children.

The importance of the day is much more as the violence against children had increased tremendously. This international day is observed with an aim is to end all forms of violence against children.


Activities and Programs on the Day

This day is a celebrated by many organizations and individuals with different programs to protect and preserve the rights of children. Many campaigns are organized on the day with the focus of preserving the rights of children. Various international and national level organizations work among children are also taking part in the observation by pledging to protect child abuse.

On this occasion children are made aware of their rights and also guides them in how to overcome abuses.
