What is JEE Main ?
JEE Main (Joint Entrance Exam Main) is an admission test for undergraduate engineering programs at IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology), NITs (National Institutes of Technology), and other centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs) in India. Earlier it was called as AIEEE.
From 2019 onwards National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct JEE Main examination (Earlier it was conducted by CBSE). The exam will conduct twice a year in January and April. The notification of the exams are coming in previous September and February for the January and April exams respectively. The exams will conduct in online (computer based) mode and the candidate can sit in either of the two or both exams.
This is also the basic exam for JEE Advanced entrance exam for admission in IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) and Indian School of Mines (ISM). Only those who score top in JEE Main are eligible to apply for JEE Advanced exam. Earlier JEE Advanced is called as IIT-JEE.

JEE Main Eligibility
The following are the eligibility criteria to attend JEE Main entrance exams. Please check the eligibility criteria and make sure that you eligible for the exam.
Age Limit
There is no age limit for appearing in JEE Mains.
Year of Appearance in Qualification Exam
Those who have passed their 12th examination in 2018 or 2019 (Previous two years) or appearing for 2020 (Present year) can apply for JEE Main in both attempts of January and April.
Number of Subjects in Qualifying Exam
Candidate apply for JEE Main must have taken at least 5 subjects in class 12th qualifying examination.
Eligibility of admissions into IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs
Candidates should have secured minimum 75% marks (65% for SC/ST category candidates) or should be in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards
For Paper II (B.Arch) – The candidates should have completed the 10+2th standard exam with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also 50% aggregate marks in the 10+2 (or equivalent) qualifying examination.

Fees may be paid either by credit/debit card or through e-challan generated during the online filling of the application form. In case of e-challan, the payment should be made through SBI bank. There will not be any other mode of payments like DD, money order, IPO etc. The fees once remitted is non-refundable.
