CMAT (Common Management Admission Test): Exam Details, Eligibility, Exam Pattern

What is CMAT (Common Management Admission Test)?

CMAT (Common Management Admission Test) is a management admission test conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). NTA is conducting CMAT from 2019 onward, Earlier it was conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). This exam conducted once in every year as per the directions of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. CMAT exam score is accepted by all AICTE Approved Institutions / University Departments / Constituent Colleges / Affiliated Colleges.

CMAT (Common Management Admission Test) is three hour computer based test conducted in the month of January.


Important Dates for CMAT 2019

Important dates for CMAT 2019 will give an information about the dates of CMAT. See official notification for the exact dates. Official site is https://ntacmat.nic.in.

Exam Notification: in the month of October

On-line submission of Application Form (Upto 11.50 p.m.): 01.11.2018 to 30.11.2018

Date for uploading the scanned images of Candidate’s Photograph and Candidate’s Signature (Upto 11.50 p.m.): 01.11.2018 to 01.12.2018

Date for successful final transaction of fee (through Credit/Debit Card/ Net Banking up to 11.50 p.m. and through e-challan up to bank hours): 01.11.2018 to 01.12.2018

Printing of Admit Cards from NTA’s website: From 07.01.2019

Date of Examination: 28.01.2019 (Monday)

Declaration of Result on NTA’s website: By 8 th February, 2019


Eligibility for CMAT

The following are eligibility for applying to CMAT 2019 Exam

  1. The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  2. The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  3. Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3) whose result will be declared before commencement of admission for academic year 2019-20 can also apply for CMAT-2019.
  4. There is no age restriction for appearing in CMAT-2019.

How to Apply?

Candidates have to apply for CMAT-2019 “Online” ONLY by accessing the website http://www.ntacmat.nic.in .

Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate. More than one application i.e. Multiple application forms submitted by a candidate will be rejected.


Admit Card

Successfully registered candidate can download their admit card from the official website. The admit card will be available as per the schedule of the examination.


CMAT Result

Result of CMAT is available in the official website after it is officially declared. Candidate can download their CMAT score from the official website.


Exam Pattern

CMAT is a fully computer based online test. The questions are coming from four sections namely Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness. There will be 100 multiple choice questions in the exams with 25 questions from each section. The duration of exam is 3 hours. Click here for more information on CMAT Exam Pattern and Syllabus.


Fees for CMAT – 2019

Fees for CMAT – 2019 is as given below. Processing charges & Goods & Service Taxes are to be paid by the candidate, as applicable.

General/ Non creamy layer OBC Male – Rs 1400/-Female – Rs. 700/-
SC/ST/PwD Male – Rs 700/- Female – Rs 700/-
Transgender Rs. 700/-

CMAT – 2019 exam fees can only be paid through Credit / Debit Card / Net Banking / e-challan.
