What is NEET UG?
NEET UG (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test – UG) is an all India entrance exam for admissions to MBBS / BDS courses in India. CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) conducts this exam every year. The ranks from this exam is used to get admission in Medical / Dental Colleges approved by the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament. More than 10 Lakh students attend NEET 2017.

NEET Notification: Mostly in January
Online Application and Submitting Fees: Last Week of January – Last Week of February (One month time form start date)
Admit Cards on Website: Beginning or Mid of April
Exam Date: in May
Result: First Week of June

Eligibility Criteria for NEET Exam
The eligibility criteria for appearing NEET exam are as follows:
Candidate applying for NEET must be an Indian citizen. All Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) candidates can also apply for NEET exam. Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Foreign Nationals are all eligible for appearing in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test.
Aadhaar Card number is a must for applying to NEET exam.
Minimum age to apply for NEET exam is 17 years (on or before 31st December of the year of admission) and there is no upper age limit for NEET.
The number of attempts which a candidate can avail in NEET is now limited to 3 (three) uniformly for candidates of all categories, with the first attempt being counted from NEET 2017 onwards.
Candidate should have qualified 12th or equivalent exam with at least 50% marks for general, 45% marks for general – PH and 40% marks for SC/ST and OBC.
Subject of study in 10+2 should be PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology).
A student appearing for 10+2 exam are also eligible to apply for NEET exam.
How to Apply for NEET UG?
Students can avail the NEET Application form via online mode from official website. Application can only be submit by online mode only.
Visit official website page of NEET. Fill and upload all necessary details, make the fee payment using online and offline mode. Take printout of the confirmation page of the application form and keep it safe for further use.
In 2017 NEET Exam fees for Unreserved (UR) or OBC candidates is Rs. 1400/- and for SC / ST / PH candidates fees is Rs. 750/-

NEET UG Exam Pattern
The following are the exam pattern for NEET exam.
The NEET exam is pen and paper based, that is it is conducted through offline mode. The exam consist of one session and duration of exam is 3 hours. All questions are of multiple choice objective type in which four options are given with one correct answer.
The questions will be asked from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology). There will be 180 questions in NEET exam with 45 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Negative markings are there for each wrong answer. A correct answer will be given +4 marks and -1 mark for each wrong answer. No marks will be given for un-attempted questions.
