Sixteen Personality Types

Each person has their own personality. Here we are going to discuss in short about sixteen personality types that were developed by Isabel Briggs Myers and Katharine Cook Briggs, which was built on the work of Carl Jung in the early 1900s. It is called MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) Personality Types. These sixteen personality types are represented by four letters (I or E, S or N, F or T, J or P).

Description of letters

Letters are described as below:

I (Introversion): They are quiet, reserved people, comfortable being alone.

E (Extraversion): They talk more, active, high energy people. Outgoing, enthusiastic and likes to be around people.

S (Sensing):  They are realistic and pragmatic people who like details. Trust facts, specifics, past experience and present realities.

N (iNtuitive): They are imaginative, creative and introspective people love to focus on the future instead of present.

F (Feeling): They are people who uses personal values, emotions, feelings to take decisions. Ruled by the heart, not the head.  

T (Thinking): They are people make decisions based on logic. They prefer logic and facts than feelings. Ruled by the head, not the heart.

J (Judging): They are people who like to make decisions. Organized and disciplined people, like to prepare and plan ahead.

P (Perceiving): They keep options open. Adaptable and going with flow. Playful, less aware of time.

Sixteen Personality Types / Myers-Briggs (MBTI) 16 Personality Types

Personality types are classified based on which character out of four combinations you belong. A combination of these four characters determine your personality type. Based on these sixteen personality types are there, they are:

1. ISTJ – Introversion Sensing Thinking Judging
